Abstract
Longitudinally driven giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect in amorphous magnetostrictive Fe24Co11.82Ni47.3Si1.47B15 ribbons was investigated. The experimental results showed that the magneto-mechanical resonance of the ribbons had significantly enhanced GMI effect. The strong magneto-mechanical coupling (MMC) interaction resulted in high MI ratio. Maximal GMI ratio of 1532% was obtained in the sample annealed at 340 °C under transverse magnetic field. The results are explained in terms of MMC and resonance of the magnetostrictive materials.
