Abstract
A model of the temperature dependence of the magnetization of the titanomagnetites series (Fe3−xTixO4) was developed using molecular field theory. The individual contribution of ferrous and ferric ions to the magnetization with changing Ti concentration is considered. For sufficiently high Ti concentration, the spontaneous magnetization increases initially with temperature and exhibits a maximum value, in qualitative agreement with the experimental evidence.
