Abstract
A ferroelectric bilayer with an antiferroelectric interfacial coupling is investigated within the framework of the transverse spin-12 Ising model. We apply the effective field theory with a probability distribution technique to study the effects of the interfacial coupling constant and the transverse field on the hysteresis of the bilayer. The quantum effects on the hysteresis and the susceptibility are also examined.
