Abstract
Cold-rolled austenitic stainless-steel samples were non-destructively characterized by means of magnetic adaptive testing (MAT). The flat samples were magnetized by an attached yoke, and sensitive, reliable descriptors were obtained from the proper evaluation, based on the measurements of series of magnetic minor hysteresis loops, without magnetic saturation of the samples. The results were compared with the results of previous measurements performed by a direct study of minor loops. Significant increase of sensitivity was found if MAT is applied.
