Abstract
Principles of optimization of magnetic hysteresis non-destructive evaluation of structural degradation of ferromagnetic construction materials—referred to as the method of magnetic adaptive testing (MAT)—is described and examples of application are listed in the references. The multi-parametric descriptors of the material degradation defined by MAT surpass the traditional ones in their sensitivity and user-friendliness. Disadvantages, advantages and open problems of MAT are discussed.
