Abstract
Monte Carlo simulation has been used to study critical behavior of the mixed spin-1 and spin-32 Blume–Capel Ising model on simple lattice. The dependence of the phase diagram on single-ion anisotropy strength is studied. The first-order transitions, terminating at a critical end point, is estimated to survive when the crystal-field on the spin-32 sublattice is little smaller than 0.5. The results are different from those previously predicted by pair approximation.
