Abstract
The magnetoresistance R of magnetorheological suspensions (MRS) is established by solving the equation of motion of iron micro-particles under the influence of the external magnetic field. We found that R depends on the mean diameter of the micro-particle, on the volume concentration of the solid phase as well as on the rheological properties of MRS. The mechanisms by virtue of which the magnetic field leads to the onset of conduction processes are discussed.
