Abstract
The kinetic energy of αâ²-(BEDT-TTF)2IBr2, α-(BEDT-TTF)2I3, and α-(BEDT-TTF)2NH4Hg(SCN)4 was estimated from the room-temperature optical conductivity measured from 50 to 30 000 cmâ1. The kinetic energy of αâ²-(BEDT-TTF)2IBr2 was significantly smaller than that of α-(BEDT-TTF)2I3 that shows metal-insulator phase transition. A clear hysteresis was found in the magnetic susceptibility near the phase transition at around 30 K.
