Abstract
The pyrrolidinomethylphthamide (PMP) crystal was prepared by a slow cooling technique. Optical absorption of the crystals of PMP has been measured at room temperature, from which the band gap has been determined using the absorption spectrum as 5.167 eV. The crystals were characterized by powder crystal X-ray diffraction, FTIR and optical transmittance spectrum. The optical parameters (n, K, α, R) were also evaluated. The values of the refractive indices and the energy gaps were evaluated and corrected with the preparation parameters.
