Abstract

Sn1−xMnxTe was synthesized by direct fusion technique. The structural properties of these compounds were investigated by X-ray diffraction. It was found that materials crystallize in the cubic form and the lattice parameters decrease with increasing the Mn content. The effect of temperature on the electrical conductivity of these samples was experimentally studied over the temperature range from 323 to 526 K. It was found that the electrical conductivity increases with increasing the temperature. The magnetic behavior of these samples has been studied as a function of Mn concentration. EPR spectra were recorded in the temperature range from 173 to 373 K at 9 GHz for the investigated samples. The line width (ΔH) increases with increasing Mn content and also increases with increasing temperature. The intensity of EPR spectrum increases with decreasing the temperature. The magnetic susceptibility increases with increasing Mn concentration.
