Abstract
In this paper, the excitations of surface plasmons in tubular metallic nanostructures are investigated. More accurate dispersion relations for the frequencies of the modes, on the basis of the Drude and Lorentz models for the dielectric function of the systems, in the presence of damping effects, are obtained. Numerical results show that by considering the friction force, the plasmon energy shift to lower values and a broadening of the frequency for each energy mode is observed.
