Abstract
Doubly-doped strontium aluminate, SrAl2O4:Eu, Nd with 1 mol% Eu2+ fixed, and varying Nd3+ concentrations of 1, 2 and 3 mol% were prepared by solid-state synthesis method. Effect of Nd co-doping on crystalline structure and photoluminescence properties were investigated. The prepared compositions were characterized for phase, crystallinity and micro-structural defects by powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. Photoluminescence characteristics show the intense emission for SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+ in the green region (λmax=515 nm). The emission for these doubly doped compositions also has long persistence.
