Abstract
The hysteretic transformation taking the linear field into the nonlinear magnetization domain is well known, but its direct inverse transformation has so far proved more difficult. This paper describes the reverse of the hysteretic process for the first time in analytical form. By formulating the inverse magnetization it establishes a mathematical way to calculate the input field waveform to any required magnetization waveform. The required excitation waveforms, for the two most important waveforms in practice, the sinusoidal and the triangular magnetization waveforms, are calculated as examples. The analytical method, described in the paper, is verified by the results of the experiments carried out on Kaschke ferrite core recorded at 1 Hz. The results are in very good agreement with those predicted by the mathematical model.
