Abstract
Recently, new opportunities at the interface of polymer chemistry and biology have been explored. It has been found that polyethylene glycol (PEG) has bioprotectant effects in interacting with protein molecules. In the present paper, small angle neutron scattering (SANS) findings on lysozyme/D2O and lysozyme/D2O/PEG solutions for temperature values of T=310 and 333 K are shown. We are able to characterise by SANS the dimensions of the protein in solution and emphasise the effects of PEG on lysozyme.
