Abstract
Monte Carlo simulation has been used to study the magnetic properties and the critical behaviors of a mixed spin-12 and spin-1 Blume-Capel Ising ferrimagnetic model with a plaquette four-spin interaction on two-dimensional square lattice. In particular, the effects of the crystal field and the four-spin interactions on the phase diagrams are investigated. The model presents a very rich critical behaviors, which includes the first- and second-order phase transitions, and tricritical points. We have found that for appropriate values of the system parameters, the model may exhibit the reentrant and even the double reentrant behaviors.
