Abstract
We derive a modified formula for the density of states for a system of particles confined by three-dimensional potential. A direct application of the obtained formula is given. The condensed fraction and the critical point at different temperature are calculated. The results of the modified approach are in good agreement with the measured experimental results as reported in Gerbier et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 92 (2004) 030405].
