Abstract
The hysteresis model of the giant magnetoresistance (GMR) layer structures based on the finite element method (FEM) is presented. The philosophy of the scalar Preisach hysteresis model in combination with a physical domain layout is applied for computation of the GMR magnetization and magnetoresistance characteristics. The computational results of the twin ferromagnetic layers GMR model are compared with the real measured characteristics. The results show the opportunity to study the connections between microstructural properties and a functionality of the GMR structures.
