Abstract
The properties of magnetic materials under applied stress are discussed. Two realizations are presented and the accuracy of a Preisach-type scalar magnetic hysteresis model is discussed with respect to the changing mechanical stress in a magnetic material. A stress-dependent vector hysteresis model has been developed. The model replicates the main properties of tensile stress effects observed in magnetic materials.
