Abstract

Refractive optics has relatively large effective apertures compared with reflective optics and they are suitable for two-dimensional beam focusing. There are two types of refractive optics, which are compound refractive optics and magnetic optics. Both of them are applied to extend the accessible q-range in small-angle scattering of cold neutron. We discuss possibilities to apply magnetic optics at pulsed neutron sources. We also discuss the possibility to obtain an extremely high neutron polarization using the spin-selectivity of magnetic optics.
