Abstract

Using a multipole method, we numerically analyze photonic crystal fibres with silicon carbide coated holes. We demonstrate resonances resulting from combined geometrical and material effects similar to resonances predicted in the static case by Nicorovici et al. [Phys. Rev. B 14 (1994) 10851], with holes appearing larger than they are or coating effectively disappearing.
