Abstract
Neutron and X-ray scattering experiment on liquid or amorphous materials must be corrected for self-attenuation in the sample and in the cell. Available methods apply only on slabs of infinite size and cylindrical samples. The present contribution offers a new “Direct Method” to evaluates correcting terms for samples and cells of any shape. The method presents several advantages even for slabs and cylinders.
