Abstract
Quasiparticle thermal Hall conductivity of the cuprate superconductor in the 'normal' state has been calculated by a generalization of the method used for calculating the electrical Hall conductivity. Detection of its giant enhancement near Tc in a mildly overdoped crystal has been explained in terms of multichannel Kondo phenomena in the cuprates. The observed near equality between the electrical and thermal Hall angles has been theoretically verified via the same approach.
