Abstract
A new lead-based relaxor Pb(Ba1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PBN), synthesized by a columbite route, is reported. X-ray diffraction shows a perovskite structure with a small percentage of cubic pyrochlore phases. Temperature dependence of dielectric response shows the typical relaxor behavior. Impedance spectroscopic data were used to gain an insight into the electrical properties of the sample.
