Abstract
We present a critical study of the temperature and field dependence magnetization of high temperature superconductors (HTSCs). The controversial field dependence of dM/d ln B for YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (BSCCO) is discussed using different models. Moreover, for both the systems the magnetization (M(H)) dependence is compared with field (H) dependence.
► Vortex overlapping has a prominent role in magnetism. ► M(H) shows linear dependence with vortex overlapping mechanism for YBCO compound. ► Magnetization in the reversible region. ► Effective penetration depth due to vortex overlapping.
