Abstract
Finite deformation theory is used to obtain the strain energy density ϕ of a tetragonal K2NiF4 (2-1-4) type single crystal of the high-temperature superconductor Nd2−xCexCuO4. The complete set of second-order elastic constants and bulk modulus of the high-temperature superconductor Nd2−xCexCuO4 (x = 0.10–0.20) is calculated by taking into account the interactions between nine nearest-neighbour atoms in the lattice and using the Mie–Gruneisen interatomic potential.
