Abstract
The CMS Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC) system consists of 912 double-gap chambers. The challenging constrains on the design and operation of this system imposed the development of a complex Detector Control System to assure the operational stability and reliability of a so large and complex detector and trigger system . The final layout and functionality of the CMS RPC DCS as well as the operational experience during the detector's commissioning and first phase of LHC operation are presented here.
