Abstract
The effect of non-linear time-of-flight synchronization, which can exist in periodical non-linear CPO systems, is considered. It seems that CPO systems based on this effect can result in new and effective TOF MS schemes. The effect is demonstrated on a simple model of an axially symmetrical electrostatic mirror and is explained using the formal methods of non-linear Hamiltonian dynamics.
