Abstract
In time-of-flight applications, fast(100 ps for 1photon equivalent level) time resolution of the detector is required. The ability of the MPPC of 1×1 mm is 200–300 ps time resolution. To improve this characteristic, we have modeled the pulse shape of the MPPC by changing the device capacitance and resistance. We then compared our simulation result with real devices, and confirmed a probable path to future improvement of the time resolution.
