Abstract
Proton ratio is the main parameter to characterize diagnosis neutral beam quality, and determined by ion species fraction of plasma in the ion source. The effect of arc discharge on beam quality has been discussed based on the main electron and gas collision cross-sections in the ion source. The operating parameters were optimized to get a high quality beam with the proton ratio of 40%.
