Abstract
A dual-axis dual-lateral position-sensitive detector has been developed for charged particle detection. This detector consists of a 20×20 mm square double-sided p-on-n silicon structure with a highly uniform resistive junction and ohmic layers with equi-potential channels. This detector was developed for the possible integration into the FAUST array. In-beam experimental results reveal a detector position resolution better than 200 μm with a non-linearity of 0.002% (rms). The energy resolution as determined from a 228Th alpha source is ∼80 keV for the 6.778 MeV alpha.
