Abstract
The paper describes the present status of the development of a portable, X-ray computer tomography (CT) mini-system, whose detection part is based on a double array of 2×1024 semi-insulating GaAs pixel detectors. The system can also work as a quantum X-ray scanner while the readout electronics allows for operation in single photon counting and in photon energy separation modes (one energy window). The maximum size of an object that can be evaluated using this system is 180 mm in diameter and 250 mm in length.
