Abstract
Recent NEXAFS studies of bio-organics are briefly surveyed. Radiation damage effects and possible means for their suppression are considered. Spectra of bio-organic materials of increasing complexity along the series amino acids–peptides–functional proteins are discussed based on a number of examples.
