Abstract
Scintillation characteristics of single crystals of CsPbCl3 were studied including photoluminescence, radioluminescence due to X-rays and γ-rays, α/γ ratio, and rise time and decay kinetics. The light yield of 415 nm emission peak should be larger than the obtained value of 320 ph/MeV for X- as well as γ-rays if the small transmittance of the present crystal should be improved in the future. We obtained the α/γ ratio ∼0.44, the rise time (10–90%) ∼97 ps, the e−1 decay constants of τ1∼300 ps for the 45% of the light intensity and τ2∼5.6 ns for the rest of 55%.
