Abstract

A collimator-free Compton imaging system has been developed based on a single high-purity germanium detector and used to generate images of radioactive sources emitting γγ rays. The detector has a planar crystal with one pixellated contact with a total of 25 segments. Pulse shape analysis has been applied to achieve a 3D-position sensitivity of the detector. The first imaging results from this detector are presented, based on the reconstruction of events where a γγ ray is fully absorbed after scattering between adjacent segments.
