Abstract
Characteristic features of neutron detection properties of the loaded liquid scintillators, i.e., capture time distribution, pulse shape discrimination, and time resolution have been studied for two Gd-loaded liquid scintillators, BC521 and BC525. A new technique to measure the capture time distribution with a small size neutron detector (capacity 7.3 l) in combination with BaF2 γ-ray detectors has been demonstrated. The measured capture time distributions were in good agreement with the results obtained by Monte Carlo simulation using the computer code DENIS.
