Abstract
As a step towards the design of a muon-spin relaxation (μ+SR)(μ+SR) spectrometer with a high magnetic field capability, we have carried out an investigation into the effects of applying a large magnetic field on the trajectories of particles in a μ+SRμ+SR experiment. We compare the results of measurements and Geant4 simulations of the influence of applied fields on the incoming muon beam and the outgoing decay positron ensemble. Good agreement between measurements and simulations is found and the limits of this agreement are discussed.
