Abstract
We have developed and tested a 25 mm aperture event counting two-dimensional imaging detector with high time resolution using neutron-sensitive microchannel plates and a cross delay line readout anode. Spatial resolution of better than 17 μm RMS has been demonstrated along with thermal neutron detection efficiencies of about 20%. Each event can be time tagged to better than 25 ns and event rates in excess of 1 MHz may be achieved.
