Abstract
Empirical formulae have been obtained for calculating neutron yields from (α,n) reactions on 9Be, 19F, 23Na, and 27Al thick target elements in the energy range from threshold up to 10 MeV α-energies. Different type of expressions have been tried to fit the weighted average (W.A.) of n-yield data. For the first time New polynomial expressions were found relating n-yields with α-energy, atomic number and the asymmetry factor of the target elements.
