Abstract
The SPEctroscopic Imager for γγ-Rays (SPEIR) is a Compton scatter γγ-ray imaging system of high efficiency and spectroscopic resolution with a 4-ππ field-of-view. The imaging system consists of double-sided segmented (DSSD) planar Ge detectors, an acquisition system instrumenting the detectors, and a set of data analysis methods. The analysis methods employ event reconstruction algorithms that increase the intrinsic position resolution and granularity of the detectors, and provide photon scattering information relevant for Compton imaging.
