Abstract
Stochastic cooling of beams consisting of several different nuclear species is investigated. In particular, conditions for simultaneous longitudinal cooling both with the Palmer and the filter method are presented. It is shown that simulation calculations support the previously derived general conditions. In a final discussion, these results are applied to storage rings at GSI, both existing and planned.
