Abstract
The system presented provides an experimental setup with stable position of both X-ray tube and detector as well as the operational movement of the observed object fixed on a motorized stage. Linear and rotation axes of the computer controlled stage enable radiographic scanning of objects as well as their tomographic reconstruction. High quality radiographs are obtained even for very low contrast and low absorption objects thanks to the large dynamic range of the cooled X-ray imager together with the proposed beam hardening correction procedure. This procedure is fully automated using a set of calibration filters and appropriate software modules.
