Abstract
A Monte Carlo simulation to study the signal temporal shape of the LHCb Scintillator Pad Detector (SPD) and the Preshower (PRS) subdetectors is presented. Being a full simulation too slow to tune the free parameters related to some unknown properties of the detector, a fast Monte Carlo simulation is introduced. The pulseshape information is needed for the LHCb experiment general Monte Carlo simulation (Gauss) and it is extracted from this fast simulation. The approach presented here can be easily extended and used over similar geometrical configurations.
