Abstract
In this paper, we describe the implementation of a new source option in the Monte Carlo code MCNP-PoliMi. The code can be used to simulate time correlation measurements with neutrons and photons in plastic scintillation detectors. The new source describes the emission of neutrons and gamma-rays from an Am–Li (alpha, n) source. The simulations performed with the modified MCNP-PoliMi code are compared to corresponding measurements, and the reasons for disagreement are identified and discussed.
