Abstract
► We applied the running coupling approach to compute the effects of the infrared renormalons on the pion production in proton-proton collisions. ► For the wave functions of pions we used ones from holographic QCD. ► Infrared renormalon induced divergence is regularized by means of the principal value prescription. ► The Borel sum for the higher-twist cross section is found. ► The contributions of renormalon effects within holographic QCD in this process are essential.
