Abstract
Women invited for screening tests have high expectations (short waiting times, friendly and professional service, phone registration for a specific date and time, modern equipment and qualified staff). The results of the survey confirmed a low proportion of first-time visitors (2% in the hospital setting, 16% in a mammography bus). Promotional activities (TV, press, open-air events) need to be directed at women who have not participated in the programme yet to show them the benefits of having regular mammography and reporting for examination.
