Abstract

Nanoflake nickel hydroxide and reduced graphene oxide composite (Ni(OH)2/rGO) has been prepared by a facile method of homogenous coprecipitation and subsequent reduction. The measurement results demonstrate that Ni(OH)2/rGO as an anode material for lithium ion batteries has 1500 and 1110 mAh g−1 for the first discharge and charge capacities, respectively, as well as 1003 mAh g−1 after 40 cycles. The Ni(OH)2/rGO composite is a promising candidate for high capacity lithium ion batteries.
