Abstract
We consider the dissipative N two-level atom Dicke system driven by a c.w. laser field. In the steady state, the cooperativity among the atoms via the radiation field produces spin squeezing. Even in the absence of dipole–dipole interaction, the system shows spin squeezing which is attributed to strong nonlinear interaction with the driving field.
