Abstract
Three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of an incompressible viscous fluid over a porous stretching sheet is studied. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the stretching sheet. The equations governing the flow are reduced to ordinary differential equations, which are analytically solved by applying a newly developed method namely the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The components are displayed for various values of the emerging parameters. The present HAM results have been compared with the known exact numerical solution for hydrodynamic viscous fluid over a non-porous sheet and are found in excellent agreement.
