Abstract
This Letter proposes a new method for controlling chaos. We first represent chaotic systems as Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model-based fuzzy systems, and provide a general exponential stability criterion for such systems under impulsive control. Then we express this criterion in some special cases in terms of linear matrix inequalities, based on which a general procedure is developed to compute impulsive control laws for chaotic systems. It is important to see that the main result and the procedure are applicable to any continuous-time autonomous chaotic system, and that the procedure is easy to be implemented algorithmically.
