Abstract
The target waves in the two-dimensional (2D) complex Ginzburg–Landau equation (CGLE) are investigated. To model inhomogeneity in some realistic conditions (e.g., with solid dust contaminations), we study the possibility of producing a stable target wave from initial spatiotemporal state by simply setting a constant system variable in a small spatial region. We call it system variable block method. The stability and some properties of the generated target waves are studied numerically.
